Try relaunching the program?

Or restarting your computer. I have AVG Business Internet Security 2012 and before any program wants to connect to the internet (that's how the key changer checks for bans or validity) I have to accept it...Doubt that's your problem though.

Do you have UAC or your Firewall enabled when using the program?

try reggedit.
