Well you could start off by changing your motherboard for a newer socket for sure. If you have access to a microcenter they have an extremely good price on the i7 3770k. If not you could consider something like the new AMD FX 8350. That does require the AM3+ socket however. I would definately say a motherboard upgrade would be one of your first things to do. In terms of ram, you dont need to worry extensively. You could grab another 2-4gb fairly cheap, just make sure your buying decent SPEED on your RAM. 1600 or 1866 would be a good choice. For the mother board, just find one with an AM3+ socket on it and that has your I/O needs. For a graphics card, I personally really like the GTX 660 for its bang for the buck. If you dont want to spend that much there is also the AMD 7770 and 7850 you may consider, although the performance benchmarks are lower. Hope that helps!
