Program Files Update

So my windows files became corrupt and i had to completely re install Win. 7, after this a lot of my files were saved in Windows.old, instead of downloading them all again i decided to just copy over some applications & games, I'm wondering if there is a way for my computer to discover these new files and create shortcuts and start menu folders like the files did when they were installed? Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks!
