This really depends on how sophisticated you want your hacks to be.

While knowing C++ definitely helps reverse engineering games written in exactly that language, you should also get familiar with your processor's assembly language (knowing IA-32 should be enough for starters, most games run on that architecture anyway).

However this is a game hacking site.. The programming forums aren't extremely active, people here mostly want to learn the languages for the hacking side.
