To the OP: isn't this how (almost) all religions work? It's the exact reason why people bought indulgences a few centuries ago. Religions (not always, and not all of them) thrive on the weak and frail, basically. Those who have uncertainty in their minds get attracted to religion more easily because they feel safe and certain by doing so.
