JSRS Security

We have been looking to add the JSRS mod to our server. For those of you who do not know, JSRS is a sound mod that replaces all the sounds and adds a few more. The mod would not be required to play on the server. All it would be is a nice addition for those who want to download and use it.

The majority of the community is in favor adding it but the head developer is saying that he will never add any mods to our server saying "I refuse to add the mod JSRS to the server, or any other mod. I will NOT open up new doors for scripters."

I have been asking around and so far, from what I've heard, as long as we have a secure signature check we would be fine.

My question is; would allowing people to use the JSRS mod make it easier for people to inject scripts? I thought that this was a good place to ask, seeing that this is the biggest hacking/scripting forum out there.
