I'm making this tutorial to explain how to set up several programs to enable you to run multiple windows of NFS:W at once, and race them against eachother, along with explaining some of the problems/errors that might occur.
If your PC & Connection can handle it you can just browse websites or stream videos while the bot is running in the background, Using this method it took me less then a day to get over 2 million cash to buy an A class car with, had won so much parts that i could deck it out with 3star parts in all slots, a load of A/M parts like number plates/neon/lowering kits/rims, some usefull skill mods like nitrous power/duration (2star quality) and an insane amount of powerups, just shy of 600 nitrous boost powerups, around 400 shields and traffic jams.
You will need :
- 2 NFS:W accounts
- Sandboxie
- GamerZ's launcher
- Bot-a-lot
The first thing to install is Sandboxie - it runs programs on an isolated space which prevents them from making changes to other programs/data on your computer.
Sandboxie - Sandbox software for application isolation and secure Web browsing
The installation of the program should be pretty straightforward. after installing and running the program, you basically have the option on right-clicking the icon to any program and selecting to open it sandboxed.
There are however, some problems that needs solving.
First of all, the default installation of sandboxie will not let an external program send keyboard/mouseclicks to the sandboxed program.
This would mean Bot-a-lot would not work with the sandboxed copy of the game, so we need to disable this setting.
To do this, open the sandboxie panel by doubleclicking it's icon in your taskbar, then right-click on the "
DefaultBox" and select "
Sandbox Settings", expand the option "
Restrictions" and go to "
Hardware access" then put a check in front of the option "
Permit outside programs to simulate mouse and keyboard input", save and exit the settings screen.
However, even with sandboxie the standard gamelauncher will still detect that the game is already running, causing the error "It's not possible to start the updater while the game is running"
To solve this, we need the NFS World Launcher v2 by GamerZ.
http://www.mpgh.net/forum/451-need-s...er-v2-gmz.html
To use this launcher :
- Extract the file Launcher.exe to the directory you chose when installing the game.
(by default this will be something like C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed World\ or C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed World\ ) - Find the launcher in the folder you extracted it to, and make a shortcut to it on your desktop.
(right click it, select "copy to.." and then select "Desktop (make shortcut)" - Go to your desktop, right-click the new shortcut and go to properties.
- Now we need to edit the "Target" line - this is the tricky part, and needs some explaining.
Assuming you chose the standard directory for installing NFS:W, the target line of the shortcut will be something like
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed World\Launcher.exe" <-
Don't change or remove this.
Now we want to use the launcher.exe to launch the nfs:w executable, wich is located in C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed World\Data\
so we change the Target line to :
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed World\Launcher.exe" "C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed World\Data\nfsw.exe"
after this, you still need to add information like your login details and server. for example, to play on apex eu, your final target should look something like this :
"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed World\Launcher.exe" "C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\Need For Speed World\Data\nfsw.exe" 94.236.124.241 EU yourown @ email.com YourPassword
(this example list APEX's ip and the EU realm, you will want to change the IP adress and EU to US if you are playing on Chicane/another realm respectively.)
After saving this, clicking the shortcut ill automagically log in to the server and with the info you've supplied.
If you're smart, create a copy of this shortcut, and just edit the email/password - this will save you a lot of time logging in both accounts.
If you've made a mistake somewhere, the shortcut will either not work at all, or show you this default popup with server information :
Finally, grab Bot-a-lot here (currently 29.05.13, be sure to check the MPGH forums if there's not a newer version ever so often.):
http://www.mpgh.net/forum/451-need-s...05-2013-a.html
- Run the launcher with the 1st set of login details.
- Run the launcher with the 2nd set of login details Sandboxed. (right-click, select "Run Sandboxed")
- Run Bot-A-Lot, select Sandbox from the dropdown menu.
- in game, make sure both accounts are in eachother's friend list.
- have one account invite the other one to a group (right-click their name in the social window to do so)
- make sure both game windows are running in windowed mode, not fullscreen and are at 800x600 resolution.
- go to a random sprint event with 1 account, start a private Drag race and select "invite group"
- accept the invite with the other account
- only when both accounts are in the lobby should you press the start button in bot-a-lot.
- should the bot ever crash/not get into races properly, just close it with F11, manually get into the lobby to a drag race with both windows again, and start the bot before the countdown ends.
All props and thanks should go to Bot-A-Lot and GamerZ for their bot and launcher respectively, i just felt there wasn't a whole lot of details about setting it all up on MPGH, so i wrote this guide in hopes of saving others the troubles i had getting it all to work right.
