C++ Learning For 2013?
Hey guys I really want to learn C++ code and im struggling with all the the guides and books because they are way outdated and I've tried to put in the code like the Hello World Program into Visual Studio 2012 and it says it wrong and theirs errors and shit so can anyone maybe teach me or point me to a more up to date guide?
Watch YouTube tutorials such as "antiTRFM" YouTube channel or "TheNewBoston's".
Tutorials can't be outdated while the lenguage is always the same...

You should try to fix your Hello World before trying to do something different.
Thanks for the suggestions
Check out the book links and stuff on this site:
Get Started! : Standard C++

It has updated book suggestions that are updated for the new C++11 standards which are the most up to date standards for the C++ language. (Keep in mind Visual Studio 2012 does not implement all of C++11 yet, but a decent amount is implemented or partially implemented.)

There are some courses on that site as well if need be:
Training : Standard C++
Until there they fully implement the new standard just stick with the 2008 or 2010 version.
Using some features but not being able to use all is just a pain IMO.

There is no reason to use outdated software just because things are not fully implemented.
There are a handful of C++11 features implemented in the 2012 compiler that are very useful and should be used / learned now instead of waiting and being late to the party.

lol are you saying visual studio 2010 is outdated?

I guess windows 7 is outdated also, it's even a year older!

In terms of the compiler and standards support, yes it is outdated.
