This is an interesting point. If you dualbox and host on another machine you could try to deny knowledge of the hack in the first place. It would look as if someone else hacked and you got caught in the crossfire...

Also: how does it work actually? I see no choice for the type of resource I want to boost. Let's say I set it to 20, and I pick up a stack of 254 ferrite and 1 control module. Would I end up with 20 of both? Would I have to activate it just before I pick up the control module?
