Avatar Comization Question?

I want to get a gif image into my avatar slot -but it always says the file to big.is there a way to make the gif mage smaller-cause i see allot of people with gif in there avatar slot.

What i mean by Gif image would be the dancing animal in my signature.

Gimmie a link to it and i'll make it smaller for you.

though i would like to learn so can do it myself-teach a boy to fish and he can feed himself.

Well the max is 150x150. Do you mean filesize is too big? And there are numerous programs to optimize gifs.

could u give me a link to a program that does that.

OR could you give me the name of the program you use-and ill just download it myself.

i download the gif file-but the gif resizer dosen't acknowledge the file as a gif
