Has anyone ever made Torrone before? I am trying to figure out what to substitute the almonds with, considering I fucking hate almonds, and don't want just plain old nougat.
No. Toblerone is an attempted rip off of Torrone, using chocolate as the base and processed ingredients. Torrone is a nougat pastry created from scratch using honey, confectionary sugar, egg whites, and whatever else one wants to put into it.

This is a Torrone.
That looks really damn good but i don't like almonds either.
I've never had it nor am i good at cooking/baking/making any food, but you could try coconut flakes i don't know if the texture or flavor would go well with it but that's the only thing i could think of that might work with it.
I really want to try one right now. :x

Neither would work with the consistency, the skittles would be too abrasive and the flavors wouldn't mingle. The Pinda flavor wouldn't mingle, though the consistency would be fine.

The flavors wouldn't really compliment each other, the coconut has a distinct tartness that hides behind the sweet which would be nice on its own, but the added sweet flavors would overpower the nougat.
I think we are getting closer, I have the ingredients set up so I can start making them tomorrow after work, letting the honey sit with a cap of vinegar and a small amount of stevia to counteract the vinegars flavor, to let it break down the honey so it won't need to be boiled for two hours. I may add white chocolate to one batch for my family, though my own batch will probably only consist of nougat and possibly the marshmallows.
