Visual Studio...Visual Basic

Im a little confused. The similarity of the names confuses me. Im guessing the are two different languages because the code looks completly different from C++. This is what got me so confused when I first tried to learn C++.

Could somebody break it down for me: The difference between Visual Basic and Visual Studio (what VB is used for, language used, compiler used,etc.)

Visual Basic is a language Visual studio is a tool. Visual studio includes a compielr for visual studio and visual c++. VB is used for newbs who started progrmaming XD. Its mostly "VISUAL" hence the name.
