And you don't need tankiness with positioning with xerath, especially when you have zhonya's and 200+ armour, when they only have 1 ap champ....

RoA is a mediocre buy on most AP mids and only a necessity on very few. Xerath likes CDR and mp5 more than mana or hp because he's a fucking mile away and relies on his ult for a huge chunk of his damage so downtime = useless time. The AP given by RoA is pretty bad anyways. Xerath is used to burst someone down, not burn them with liandries which works better for dps based mages.
Xerath build = CDR MP5 and heavy AP. Probably something like an Athenes or Morello's into zhonyas or dcap.

Means that your MMR is not high enough, the game thinks that you still have lower MMR than the next division has.
Had the same problem getting from Gold I -> Plat 5, took me 3 weeks because I was stuck around 70-90 LP and never got enough win streaks to get 100.
