Bukkit Plugin Which every Server needs/How to Install Bukkit
Hello guys , I decided to make a thread of Bukkit Plugins Which every server need this will help Starter Server owners to make their Server Better !!!

Most Important Plugins:
PermissionsEx - Download Here

PermissionsEx Features
  • Several backend support. Currently bundled backends is File (YAML) and SQL (MySQL, SQLite). Also it's possible to add your own.
  • YAML backend, with new, fully rethinked, config schema. Now all user, groups and their permissions are stored in one file - permission.yml. BTW file name is adjustable too.
  • SQL backend, most delicious. Currently MySQL and SQLite supported, but other DB (like Postgre) are possible too. PEX deploys the DB scheme (tables and initial data) automatically. This means, that you only need to provide data on how to connect to the db, everything else PEX will handle by itself.
  • Flexible architecture and API - you can change a lot programmatically.
  • Rich chat/console command interface. You can do almost everything ingame. Command list below.
  • Modifyworld - Embedded restrictions mechanism (we call it "modifyworld"), which provides the possibility to control players abilities, such as destroying/placing blocks, riding carts/boats or even getting spotted by mobs and much more. Disabled by default.
  • Multigroup inheritance. User, as well as Group, can be member of several groups. And inherit their permissions, options and prefix/suffix.
  • Permissions based upon Regular Expressions. This mean you can use regular expressions. Example: modifyworld.blocks.(destroy|place).(3|12) - this permission allow place or destroy only sand (12) or dirt (3) blocks. There is still limitation on dot usage in your regexps - dots are escaped by default.
  • Multiworld permissions. Just don't specify world and permission would work in any world.
  • Multiworld inheritance. You can inherit different groups in different worlds.
  • Perfomance friendly. Low-level caching helps alot when you have 100+ online users
  • Promotional/Demotional system. You can assign ranks to groups and promote/demote users to higher/lower ranked group. NEW: new you can make serveral ranking ladders.
  • World-inheritance - permissions/option of one world can be inherited by another world.
  • Timed Permissions - you can give user permission only for some amount of time.
  • Bukkit Permissions (SuperPerms) compatible.

How To Install Bukkit

Instruction For Windows

Windows
1. Download CraftBukkit's latest recommended build: CraftBukkit - Recommended Build
2. Put the .jar file in the directory you'd like the server to run from
3. Open a text editor such as Notepad and type:
Code:
java -Xmx1024M -jar craftbukkit.jar -o true
PAUSE
4. Save the document as run.bat (not as a .txt) in the same directory as craftbukkit.jar.
Note: With some programs such as Notepad, it may try saving as run.bat.txt. When saving to a file name, put the name in quotes: "run.bat"
5. Double click run.bat and you're away!
6. To shut down, issue the "stop" command in console.
If you see "'Java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." then you need to reinstall Java..

Instruction for Mac

Mac

  1. Install Java
  2. Obtaining the Server Files
To run a server you will need the server jars, i.e. the server files. We will need a place to put the files.
    • Create a New Folder

Open up finder, and create a new folder in your Home folder named CraftBukkit
    • Download the File

Download the server files. You can download the latest builds from the front page of the wiki.
Note: Download the stable build if you are not chasing the cutting edge in the development build
    • Move the File

Move the file from the Downloads folder to the CraftBukkit folder you created.
  3. Obtaining startup script
to easily start the server you will need a startup script. The following is a basic server script to start your server.
    • Open up TextEdit set it to plain text mode under format and paste the following in

    Code:
    #!/bin/bash
    cd "$( dirname "$0" )"
    java -Xmx1024M -jar craftbukkit.jar -o true
    • save the file

Save it in your CraftBukkit folder as start_server.command

    • Allow the script to run

    1.Open up Terminal.app
    2.Type into Terminal.app - chmod a+x
    3.drag the start_server.command into Terminal.app
    4. hit return
  4. Starting the server

Instruction For Linux

Linux
1. Download CraftBukkit's latest build: CraftBukkit - Recommended Build
2. Put the .jar in a folder, for this example we'll use a generic one: ~/craftbukkit
3. Move to the above directory in terminal with 'cd ~/craftbukkit'
4. Create a new file in the minecraft folder and name it craftbukkit.sh
5. Edit the file and paste this into it:
Code:
#!/bin/sh
 BINDIR=$(dirname "$(readlink -fn "$0")")
 cd "$BINDIR"
 java -Xmx1024M -jar craftbukkit.jar -o true
6. Make the file executable, either by running "chmod +x ~/craftbukkit/craftbukkit.sh" in a terminal, or by changing the permissions in the file's properties.
7. Then, in terminal, type '~/craftbukkit/craftbukkit.sh' to run to start the server.
8. When you're done playing around, issue the "stop" command in console.

P.S Hope you Enjoy and like it
Hey nice tutorial! But I suggest looking into spigot instead of craftbukkit. Its basically a craftbukkit mod that includes antixray (with no lag) and it improves server performance!

Doing this won't get you a sticky. And also you only need Essentials, AuthMe (or another authorization plugin), and PEX, if you want to keep a simple server. All the other ones are completely unnecessary such as ChestShop and McMMO (both are shitty ass plugins)
