Hackers
So in light of recent news from r/rotmg and a few other people I know A LOT of people are getting hacked nowadays. I recommend using https://howsecureismypassword.net/ it offers a way to see how long it would take to "crack" your password. But then again this site may not be trusted, if you feel like taking the risk go ahead. So BEWARE of all the clients you download and the sites you visit. Stay safe and have a nice day.
According to that site
it would take a desktop PC 87 trillion years to crack my RotMG password.
You do know rotmg server’s have a lockout for 30 mins , after like 5 failed login attempts,
A 3 letter password 26^3 as 17576 possible combinations, in one day you can try a max of 240 login attempts to try and brute force a password

I thought that was a client side limitation. This happens even for custom clients?

It doesn’t matter where the password is tried, for instance sending a http get request to “realmofthemadgod.com“, or connecting directly to the us west server, 5 failed login attempts always locks the account.
The password for everything but rotmg takes 24 minutes and my rotmg password takes 105 trillion years. My priorities...
I doubt a skid from RotMG actually got a hold of a decent database. They probably just had a bunch of people infected and waited for un-soulbound weekend to start.

Yeah I agree. I don't personally use clients myself. Just use these forums to see what's up.
mine is 81 Billion years

My friends is 0.025 sec xD
This website is so unrealistic.
Sure a 1 character may take a nano-second to be guessed, however you have to calculate how long just one webrequest would take. And then as botmaker mentioned, there is a limit on how many times you can try to guess.
A six character password that this site claims to be crackable in 11 minutes, would in reality, take weeks.

Let's not forget that nobody here, even if they knew how to, would waste time cracking your realm of the mad god, a flash based simplistic, mmorpg password.
Let's get real. If they wanted it so bad, they would do it in an actually logical way.
Passwords are almost never cracked while they're connected to an online service. It's always some mixture of hacking that yields the hacker the password hashes, which they can then use to crack a password locally. That's what these times are for.

Also, you guys scoff at the notion of hacking rotmg but it's not as unreasonable as you might think. It's obviously very low visibility in terms of the law, but these items can easily sell for a couple dollars a piece. If you have a large amount of accounts, it might be worthwhile. I remember reading a while back that some hackers made money by buying things like trading cards with stolen credit cards since they have a specific niche audience and are very hard to trace in order to sell them off for easy cash.
just type more then 16 letter mine a quantillion years lol
This side could take your password and hack you.

What are the chances they will use your password on RotMG?
As pointed out by a couple of previous posters, who bruteforces passwords anymore? It's much quicker and simpler, and much more yielding to logically RAT your PC or phish your account.
