Some countries use coins to make money. Question is: Why do they use a more expensive material to make one worth less? Wouldn't it be better if you kept the coin, sold it as a mineral rather than using it for it really costs?

Because they are really stupid

So, what do you suggest they replace coins with? Paper money, which breaks 15 times as quick?

Then they'd have to replace every other kind of the coin.

It would actually cost more to replace our current system of our economy, plus it's mainly costing us more to make it because of inflation issues

paper money has no real value except for what they tell you it is.

speaking bout coins. Here in Egypt, the 1 pound coin is about 20~50 grams. 50~20 coins would equal 1 KG. 50 pounds are merely 7$. So I think the rate here is way less than buying real metal with your own money
