Help on making a game.

Hello guys, many of you may now me from the RotMG section; but know Im interested on game development. I've already done some small games mainly like 2D RPG games but now Im interested on a bigger project; something like Quake Live. I want a game where you can create matches yourself with a couple of maps and open them in Hamachi to play with your friends.

As what Im a "noob" I want something simple and easy to use but that can elaborate a 3D FPS like Quake Live ( Not necessarily Sci-Fi content but like TF2 where you can fight in different maps and stuff. )

Seeing people still read this. I Highly recommend to use an OpenGL API in java. It is SUPER easy to make 3D games with that and it's smooth. You can publish your Java file as an applet so you can play it in the webbrowser smoothly.
Just google LWJGL

And I recommend using ECLIPSE, Google eclipse.

It is also used in minecraft so you get an idea what you can do with it.
