Counter Strike Source mic doesn't work

Whenever I play on the cracked CS:S I got from nosteam (Some may know him), whenever I press the key to voice chat, I see the speaker hud flash, but whenever I tell them can they hear me, people say they don't. I have a Turtle Beach Earforce X12, I turn on the mic and put the speaker near my mouth, but still it doesn't work. When I do the voice test on the options in the voice tab, it doesn't hear me either. I even went to the control panel,sound, and clicked the recording tab, but I only have external mic, integrated microphone array, and stereo mix. Can anyone help me configure my settings correctly, 'cause I really want to be able to talk to people in CS:S.

Just make sure everything is plugged in correctly, if you have skype I would suggest testing that out just to make sure your mic is working overall. If it isn't you might have something either unplugged wrong or another issue at hand.

Ok, so I tried a test call on Skype, and it didn't work. I went to options, and audio settings, and it seems as if the external mic doesn't work, but the integrated microphone array. When I clicked that, it worked when I tried the test call again. I also went into the Sound in the control panel and set the integrated microphone array to default device. I have yet to try this on CS:S, so wish me luck!

Ok, so it didn't work (fail), but I have a question. Could you set the mic you use in CS:S? I tried to do it in the Sound, but didn't work.
