The first one's text was better.. You should search deviantART: where ART meets application! for signature tutorials, you can find really good ones.

Yep,the first version is better out of the two x)

This kinda hurts my eyes because of too much red and black and red quick color transitions.
I think you could add some image as background and it would improbe a lot.

It looks very nice, Keep making different versions!
