CoD:Ghosts laggs? Why?

Hey there ^^

So basicly the game laggs. I often have like 70-90 fps but mostely its under 60..

Heres my PC:

Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 640 3.00GHz
Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti 2GB
RAM: 4 GB DDR3

Ghosts Settings:

Everything on lowest but the Picture Qualiti. Its set on low not very low.

Because your pc specs does not meet the minimum requirements for the game :P try Can You RUN It | Can I run that game | Game system requirements and see what they think

so you think that only the ram is the reason??

No. This is a sh*tty game, that's all :P

It might be the Ram but also what I have found out is that without the Steam overlay it works 100x better, so give that a try

Anything that even touches the game files that isn't Call of Duty itself is like poison.
If you have raptr, exit that.
Any recording program, exit that.
Steam overlay, disable that.
Antivirus completely shut it off.
Shut off or disable ANYTHING that is third party that somehow communicates with Ghosts.

Disable anti virus for ghosts? I'd rather disable ghosts for my AV

okay, it runs at least a little bit better now. ^^ does someone else has tipps ? and do you know what programs i can run in the background? i would like to have my antivirus (microsoft security essentials), teamspeak and spotify

All but teamspeak id leave open.

defo close all the rest.

When playing online games such as this you really want to have as much of your internet free as possible and as little running processes as possible in task manager.

For example I have only 59-62 running processes (including game(s) being played) when gaming.

I have to say I have had no real bad lag issues, one night started to stutter but that has been it.

There are a whole host of commands in the config file you can change to help tweak performance as well as your graphic cards settings (Nvidida Control Panel for example)

Less RAM/poor cpu = less quality/graphic settings. So go with performance, however maybe not high performance.

its a balancing act which requires some bit of effort from the users part, mixture of tweaking config file and gpu settings for game .exe

Edit: Also see how the game runs off gpu and cpu see what is better

Might sound silly, but adding RAM is the best option. Ghosts on my 6GB pc is a bit slower than it's underpowered laptop sister which has 8GB RAM.

Is anti-aliasing on?

i tried to play with 8gb ram now (my brother borrowed me his) and its still lagging. i have everything on very low..
even the menu kinda laggs o.ô

What resolution are you playing on?

The menu lags a bit for me and for a lot of ppl too, its because of Steam overlay. And i heard the game is optimized for 720p (because of consoles), so give a 720p resolution a try and see if it gets better.

For menu laggs i've heard that having more than 10 steam friends connected makes it. I've removed some, and it got way better. You could also switch offline in Steam, and then play.

Its funny, my game laggs like heck even though i have the following;
AMD FX 8350
AMD R9 290x
16GB ram
I just think the game is optimized poorly
