Program ideas?

I'm trying to think of ideas for new programs to start working on Java. I don't want to make something with an alternative already existing/working. The only idea I've had so far needs to wait for MCP to update (*Cough* Not a client). Alternatively if anybody has some programs that they want/need/would like then please request here and I'll have a go.

Try making paint in java.. I remember I made it a while ago.. thing is my brushes were drawing an image at the coordinate.. So it was crap..
Try making a small game? Something which will keep you entertained and will help your skills.
