Arma is a poorly optimized game, so it really is random with FPS and such, I know people who have Titans that get like 30 fps, and others getting 60 on cards like 7700 because it's shit when it comes to recognizing and performing I would suggest getting 2 gigs on the card, also the game is very dependent on the CPU so if you lag by any chance, clock your cpu to about 3.9-4.0 GHZ and you'll get great frames per second.

You SHOULD be able to play at medium to high settings, I also suggest not to buy Alienware computers if this is from the retailer, they are overpriced and you can get so much more by just building a pc especially around Christmas since there are lots of deals, I saved about $120 on veterans day when I got my computer parts, I can imagine how much you can upgrade during Christmas.

Also the harddrive has a big impact on fps on Arma 2 since the map isn't fully loaded constantly your hardrive has to work harder to load the map so getting an SSD really helps.
I like how you mention the size of the hard drive, as if it would have mattered. ^^

I dont agree with do not buy a Alienware. I bought a new Alieware laptop from around €2k and it works like a charm on arma for me. 8GB RAM. Nothing really special but a really good gaming pc imo. before this I had another pc 16GB RAM 2GB NVIDIA GeForce 660 GTX TI and my laptop has the same FPS.(Like u said before. Titans can get lower FPS then other computers.) + alot of people dont know how to build their own pc. cuz some parts prob wont really work together(Had that before when playing APB. Previous pc just freezed outanowhere. but ya AlienWare can be expensive if u dont wanna give out alot of money

the FPS depends on the place u r. For example: If ur in Cherno u can get 10 FPS and when ur at Cap Galova u get 50 FPS. It depends totally depends where u r. I recommend just play on Low Cuz the quality doesnt really change imo.

If you buy alienware you are essentially paying for brand name, you can build a desktop for 1/3 of the cost and still get the same computing hardware. But anywho if you are unsure if you can run a game I recommend Can You RUN It | Can I run that game | Game system requirements

You should be able to run it on medium specs with no problem.

We all know how horrible dayz is, even if it says you can run it and it's essentially supposed to run it you still get shit fps.
