Can someone give me a tut or suggest one on how to make a home server and run a secure website? Thanks!

Try running Apache on a computer, should be a spare one that is not linked to your main one, If someone cracks the server they can't get your main computer data. This will provide simple http server functions. Also try a IRC server. I have a spare server @ home so I know how to set it up

Okay thanks that helped a lot! Because I tried apache on my main and I thought it was safe. I will just have to pick a spare up later. Also I could not get it set up at the time.

To make the whole process a ton easier, download and set-up XAMPP.

-Easy to use control panel
-Can install Apache etc. as services
-You won't need to install MySQL seperately.

XAMPP should easily get you off to a good start and then you can continue from there.
