Adobe Illustrator CS help

Yeah, my sig looks totally kw33r against the blue background of these forums.

I used the Ice style on the quote in the middle - mainly for that nice shadow effect it has on the text.

Now, after toying around with the artistic styles for about twenty minutes, I'm stymied.

How in the name of t3h fuxx do I get that shadow effect all by its lonesome?

I don't want all this spikey crap mussing up my quotes -.-
