Ok so lets have a look at what is expected to be released over the next few days, this will include information about how we know there is a release due.


Item Durability + Repair
It seems as though Facepunch might be trying to increase game length by implementing things in which you need to do to stay well geared.
Inside this topic on their trello it notes the following features:

✓ Add condition value to items, render them unusable below a certain threshold of max condition(20%)
✓Make weapons have a chance to lose condition when used (fired, objects hit with melee)
✓Make armor lose condition when it absorbs damage
✓Add repair tool which requires a percentage of the item's blueprints requirements to repair the item
✓When item is repaired, its max condition is lowered by an amount
✓If item is damaged while its max condition is lower than a percentage (20%) destroy the item, and give a few damaged parts in the players inventory


So from this we find that MOST items will now progressively get more damaged as they are used, repairing an item will put them back to their max condition but every time you repair an item its max condition is lowered, When an item becomes destroyed the item will be removed from the players inventory and a few parts will be in the players inventory.

Implement New Sky
Something that Facepunch have been working on for a while now is a new sky texture, you can see in the image provided what the new sky will look like:



Features will include:

✓Tree z bug
✓Time/timescale networking
✓Make day/night curve match the old system
✓Add quality convars
✓Add quality convars for water
✓use real water height


From this we find that the old "White trees at night" will be fixed, you will be able to better work out the time of day depending on how light the sky is, Convars for water and sky will be added, I'm unsure as to what Real water height means yet.

Server freezes - create minidump

Feature list isnt required for this release, all it essentially does is writes a log file on why the server has crashed or frozen so that hosts can have a better idea of what the cause was.

Join game via steam

This feature isnt confirmed for the next release but it has been ready since February 11th so I'd expect it sometime soon. this essentially allows you to join someones game via steam rather than their in-game friends tab.

Changes to CheatPunch

Again, unconfirmed but expected, I find it highly unlikely that they wont attempt to fix the bypass methods people have found, unfortunately for them people like myself have ways of finding what they change and counteracting it, expect hacks too be down for a small while after the update.

I Will be updating this thread EVERY week (or after each update) to provide the newest information I can, any questions or information additions you have please post below and I will decide whether to add them or not.

Although for this particular week I don't have proof that a update is due soon I do have a quote from Facepunch by Garry - "We will release something bigger and better later in the week."
