Also runs windows 8.1, but going to switch again to 7 soon, because its better at performing everything in my opinion.

Hmm, yeah it's alright. It's kinda weak for a gaming rig however. For visual novels you shouldn't have a problem though... if I were you I would torrent Windows 7 and dual-boot. I'm guessing it's Windows 8 that's fucking with the visual novels right?

It's not a bad machine but its not the ideal for gaming though, because its a laptop, the current voltage is locked and there is a massive issue of overheat if on maximum power, let alone overclock.
But since it's a VN we're talking about... No problem. And most games run aswell, bt not with great quality...

If you don't have any problem with horror check out Corpse Partyⓘ. Saya's Song is pretty damn sweet but it's not ported to the PC, it's my favorite visual novel. Oh, it's a horror-loli game however. I really liked A Drug That Makes You Dreamⓘ and I've almost 100% Katawa Shoujoⓘ and it's so far pretty good. Both are non-loli.

I'm kinda newbie with visual novels so I'd recommend asking for recommendations hereⓘ or just browsing hereⓘ.
