Tips for my logo
Hi, so I decided to start setting up a YouTube channel, and so I did the graphic design stuff, like the logo and banner etc.
Here's the logo I made
I would really like it if you can give me some feedback!
One more question, I used Helvetica off a torrent. I'm aware of licensing fonts and the copyright stuff along with it, but I heard that if I outline it I can still use it. Is it still okay for me to use it or do I have to pay for it? If that's the case, what are some alternatives that have a free commercial license?

Looks pretty sick. The design looks better enlarged than in the thumbnail. I recommend changing either the font color or the background glyph to create a stronger contrast. It will make reading it easier.
Apple uses Myriad, it comes with photoshop like if you are looking for another font to use.

You should be more concerned with using the Star Wars Rebel symbol in regards to copyright rather than the font, especially since Disney owns it now 
it looks nice, but like a cross to some extended.
I liked the logo, looks sleek, loved the color, black/red combo is great...

I'd go for white instead of grey with a slim red outline. Overall it looks cool man, nice work.
Cool concept, but overall very busy. The way I personally design logos is to ensure that not many colors are used. I avoid any gradients at all costs and if things overlap I like to make sure there's a transparent outline around them to ensure that if it was to be printed in grayscale or something it would still be easily readable. I like to make things easily visible no matter what colour they are or what background they're on.
I absolutely love the shape you made and I like the idea of incorporating red and black. Those two colors mix really well together. I hope you don't mind, but I wanted to show you how I'd personally go about this logo. I've kept the shape and the red and black theme, and it's easily recognizable and noticeable on any background.
I've also only just noticed that this thread is from 2014 and that I look like a fucking moron.
