Make a server for XP

Upgrade to 7 or 8.
That's the only step.

It is possible to make a server for XP just that it requires you to look into using .NET Framework 4 on Windows XP and most people would recommend against it, Myself included. However if you'd really like to give it a try you can always tell us your result on this.

If you don't get a good result you should look into getting windows 7 or Windows 8 (8.1) on your computer instead as both of those come with .NET Framework 4.5 which supports the private server software.

Just a heads up to tell you that the server was first written on a windows XP machine so if you manage to down-convert the system to .Net Framework 3.5 again then it should work marvelously.
