Hey anyone used a Chromebook before? If so, what are your thoughts on it? I'm looking for a small laptop that I can haul around and can quickly check up on stuff. Did some research and the Acer C720 seems like a nice chromebook.
Have no idea, I dislike small laptops because I spend too much time in front of PC and eyes are easily damaged with smaller screens
Thing is a beast, to be honest. My friend has it and he can do all the stuff he wants with it.
The only thing he can't do is play CPU-intensive games, but you don't buy a chromebook for that reason.
It's really shitty and I wouldn't recommend it. My mom purchased one once and I used it for like 10 minutes and I thought I would break the laptop every time I typed something.
Its shit you dont have skype on it nothing not worth the money
Its as lightweight as you think it is. Honestly if you just need a computer for web browsing and typing papers it's probably your go to computer. Don't expect to be doing much else on it though.

That's what I'm afraid of. I've been considering the Acer Chromebook (11.6") or the Macbook Air (13")

I don't need power (spec-wise) on a chromebook. I just need it to be ultra portable and really long battery life (at least 6 hours).

I saw some of the Chromebooks at Best buy. This one doesn't look too flimsy.

Well, I probably won't be using Skype on the go. But that is something to consider.

Pretty much. I just need a small portable computer where I can access the Internet.
Screen is really small, don't like it honestly. The keyboard is alright but is purely flat and feels funny.
