Steam Aliases remover

As the title says, i saw a guy who was in my friend list ,his nickname was narc, now he removed his aliases
i wanna know if there is any trick/hack to remove the aliases(sorry for the bad english)

Lets just say that there are certain letters/symbols that steam doesn't know how to display (AFAIK). You should be able to find what you are looking for in google pretty easily.
