Shit, that wage sucks... try to enjoy the job anyhow.

Better than being unemployed but thats real low pay though.

First of all, I am not 13 or 14. I am completely legal age to work.

Second of all, considering every other job that I could get would be minimum wage, this is fine by me.

Either work full time over here, or work part time at a grocery store or fast food joint that would even pay lower.
I had an interview at a fast food place, and they said I shouldn't be expecting more than 10-20 hours a week and that the hours can be unstable.

A lot of you are saying that 7.50 is too low, but what else can a teenager with absolutely no work experience, volunteer experience, awards, merits, even get?

I do extreme/not so bad labor for Contracting. Which generally pays well during the summer, as that's when I'm able to do big projects like roofs, sidings, porches, etc.

Since I'm a complete noob, it mostly consists of making the really simple rolls, making dumplings, preparing the cucumbers, crab, wasabi, ginger, etc.
The boss makes most of the stuff, and he passes it to me to package and put it on display.

That's actually not that bad. I still don't like working for people. Being my own boss is the best.

If you're good with computers or something, you could try starting a small neighborhood business.

Exactly what I have done. ^
Had a business going with my home owners association cookie cutter neighborhood, and things started to slow down.
Had a fast food job for a year and a half, lost it around the same time too.
Was looking for 2 months before about 3 weeks ago, I had got a job at the strip right outside my neighborhood at a locally owned pc repair shop. It's me and the business owner, he rakes in the dough offering phone plans, all sorts of pc repair, console repair, phone and tablet repair (the latter few thanks to my volunteering). Before I knew it I have went from commission based pay to now hourly pay running the store almost as much or more than he does weekly, making $10 an hour before taxes, roughly 30 hours a week.
For an almost 20 year old kid with no degree yet, no experience in the field, working towards to my associates in computer science, I am grateful to already have a job in the field. It only adds to it to note how the business is growing, is only a mile and a half from home - walking distance. And it is has attracted attention to my car, while allowing me to do more to it

Just thought I'd share my experience and encourage others to keep striving and all that sort of stuff.
And while were here - for those of you not so tech savvy - I'd be happy to help ya tune up your pc sometime.

According to the govt. page you can work a part time job in Scotland at 14 (with some restrictions) and full time at 16.

That is true, but the pay is terrible, it's something like £4 an hour which to be fair is better than getting nothing. The other thing is that I don't think that there is anywhere around my town that would hire me to begin with. If people who have full college degrees have trouble finding a job then what kind of chance have I got. I mean the owner of the business would be paying me less than someone with full qualifications which is a plus for them but I don't think that they'd bring me on. It's a sad, sad world out there.

I know what you mean. I applied to tons of spots, from dealing with produce and meat, dishwasher for restaurants, bagger boy, fast food guy, cashier, nobody called back really.

Which is why my current position is a blessing. Sure, I may be getting payed under the table and stuff, but I got it on the spot, and it isn't as mundane as other things I could get. AND I don't have to do any awkward human interaction because I'm just an assistant

Congrats, I assume you're still a student, will you be working all summer?

Yeah, I'm a senior, and I'm going to be working all summer. Once school starts again I'm going to switch to part time and work 3-4 hours after school.
