Thoughts on 1.8 changing username feature
Obviously since 1.8 sounds like it's going to be out within a few months, how do you think it will affect cracking? It's probable that Mojang will use player ID's for bans, but how will logging in be changed? Will that use an ID?

I'm not really sure on what's going to happen, but if cracking accounts gets changed majorly, someone will probably find a way around it...

Anyways, I want to know your thoughts on how cracking will be affected or just the change in general.

-Me
I'd really love this feature, I bought my minecraft account some 3 years ago, and picked a terrible name. I'd love to change that.
I bet they'll ban on a feature similar to STEAMID's, as those never change. I don't really think this will affect cracking too much though, but as I am new to minecraft hacking, I'm not to educated in that.
I was wondering, what if changing the username was like changing the password? Like if someone changes the username you can no longer log in as if someone were to change the password in cracking right now. I'd assume that changing it would cost some sort of fee. Don't really know what to think of this. Changing usernames would be nice though considering I misspelled my username lol.
Worst case scenario, everyone needs to start logging in with a email. And logging with usernames don't work. In which case cracking is fucked. But tbh this should be interesting to see how it plays out.
I guess the new changing usernames is a shot in the dark for everyone. If only it was possible to find out someones email through their username, then cracking wouldn't be fucked. Plus I don't think that Mojang would make everyone migrate because there would be a lot of problems with people not being able to access emails and other things like that.

Most likely what will happen is if you obtain a username that is changed before you try to crack it, it will just become "not premium". What I said previously was just a possibility of a very unfortunate situation
After searching on google for a few minutes, I came across the help page on changing account names from Mojang
I'll just copy and paste it here since I can't copy links

Changing usernames

-When you first create your username, the website lets you know that you will not be able to change it, and requires a confirmation. We do not yet support changing or editing usernames, though this is planned for the future. We do not have a set release date for this feature. Make sure that you choose wisely, as your username will be used for your multiplayer persona and is visible to others.

For information about the future of Minecraft usernames, check out the following:

-Username changes will not be available before Minecraft version 1.8. This does not mean that 1.8 is the release date for the username change feature.

-Changing your username will be free, and limited to a certain number of changes in a given time period.

-Username changes will only be available to Minecraft profiles that are on a Mojang account (those that log in with their email address). If you still log in with your username, visit account.mojang.com/migrate to update to the newer account format.

-Minecraft servers now use a player's unique identifying number (UUIDs) to deal with player data. This means that if you have a cape, are a server admin, or are whitelisted or banned on a server, nothing will change.

-You cannot change your name to an existing username. That would be crazy.

Unmodified servers and Minecraft itself will handle most of the transitions to using UUIDs. Custom mods or plugins will need to update to accommodate for these changes.

So, it seems they're making people migrate their account to be able to use this feature of changing the username, nothing shocking.
Since most people will want this future, it's safe to say that cracking accounts will become harder and prices will go up most likely.
Also, it's going to be super fucking chaotic on servers, since it'll be hard to distinguish who is who.

Oh god, this is going to be great.
They'll probably force people to convert their mc account into a mojang account so you need your email to login.
