It's not really something you have to learn.
It is simple, you could be using a base of image, patterns and numbers to make any words into something completely different and deciphering it would be a bitch unless you have selective eyesight.

In the first instance of which was already solved, it was simply a LTR line pattern.
Using the keyboard as a base, meaning i.e. MPGH would be NOFG, just one step to the left.

The new one quite a bit more complex.
It's still directly translatable into English.

He used very hard messages with cryptography, very good film you should check ot out. To.this day there are still messages unsolved. (This was a real man)

Sorry, I don't watch many movies. I looked at him on wiki and I've watched Fight Club, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Social Network. I personally enjoyed all the before mentioned movies so I'll check out Zodiac soon.

Zodiac is one of my personal favourites of his, I love slow burn thrillers. Watch Zodiac and make sure to give Se7en a watch as well.

He's also releasing another movie soon called Gone Girl based off a fantastic book.

I'm still hoping that someone cracks mine.

It took about 10 minutes to think and 30 minutes to solve.
