How can i find the host and port for a server like ex: play.gotpvp.com <---- how do i find the port and host for this ip?

If there's no port specified, then it's 25565. The host is play.gotpvp.com, but if you needed the IP, you could do a ping through command prompt on windows. Just google "how to ping".

Its fairly simple to find an ip behind a domain. Plenty of players refer to it as a 'Domain2IP' but I like to refer to it as 'Simple'.
So its as simple as the following steps:
1: Run CMD as administrator by searching in the windows search (bottom left) for cmd and right clicking and selecting 'run as administrator'
2: Type in the following (Replace %domain% by the domain) 'ping %domain%' Example: ping play.gotpvp.net or ping mc.hypixel.net
3: The numeric list of numbers (1.6.15.133 etc) returned is the 'IP ADDRESS' of which the domain is hosting off of/pointing to.


Having problems? Here's a couple solutions:
- RUN AS ADMIN
- MAKE SURE DOMAIN HAS NO HTTP IN IT, YOU ONLY WANT THE DOMAIN
- MAC DOES NOT HAVE CMD AND THEREFOR THIS LITTLE GUIDE IS FOR WINDOWS ONLY
- THE COMMANDPROMPT WILL NOT RETURN WITH A PORT. THEREFOR IF YOU CONNECT WITH PLAY.GOTPVP.NET:25715 AND PING IT,
IT WILL ONLY DISPLAY THE IP WITHOUT A PORT HOWEVER IF YOU WANTED TO JOIN IT, YOU'D NEED TO ADD A PORT
