Normally your problem doesn't last this long. Maybe you should try loading the map files individually?
Does the problem occur in your browser as well (when you play the game as normal)?

Hmm normally with this problem it both occurs in the trainer and in the web browser (from what I've seen, anyway).
I'm unsure if loading the map files will help, but you mentioned xan cave so:

It should display a blank page anyway, so it's hard to test. You could try opening this link, waiting for it load, and then trying "/join xancave" in game again.
