A vast majority of people here, not just choobs, are looking for some sort of special attention or title. A lot of people suck up to the staff or "cool" people and emulate their behavior, this leads to rudeness to new members.
I'd wager that a lot of the new members here are young, looking for hacks, want to be accepted, and don't know how to act properly on a forum. If people the people aforementioned acted a bit more like intelligent individuals instead of emulating everything they see other people do, new members might pick up on that.
