Universal Client Question

Should be posible to create a client what can connect to all private servers ? ( C453/Phoenix/Doomed sources )
I mean, is kinda lazy to download each client from each private servers... ( many start, many close so why to download all ) or edit each one IPs if client is not released and you know IP :-?

The real question is if posible to combine all 3 sources clients to can connect to all :-? maybe with a list where u add/remove sv IP and u choose where u want to go.

I don't expect someone to start to do it xD but I want to know if is posible

No... YOU'RE lazy... This is actually a good idea... Expect the custom items inside the client will fuck up the sprites and shit unless if remote texture. I mean, these phoenix servers use the same fucking client. The client grabs data from the server and reads it along with the remote textures it's powered by.

So you expect C453, Ossimic, Donran etc to just give you the ip to their VPS? Perhaps to DDOS... also they won't give you the client to make it so impossible. Only Phoenix and Doomed are possible

Good idea, possible but unnecessary, it would still be slower then downloading files from web browser, you can preety easily make a client that you can put .swf files in which I my self don't know how to do :P, even if it would be quite cool, it the actual program will make you lag a lot as it most likely takes more memory then the actual game does when you play it, downloading clients isn't that bad, all you have to do is wait like 5 seconds and that's preety much about it, now compare it into a Windows 10.iso file which will weight over 50gb.. Stay cool

Oh c'mon everyone can see the IP with Charless or others programs... so yes I expect xD

Maybe is useless an universal client, but not really :-? now I think I have the answer

@popescu999: well, remember that phoenix and doomed are server that running on version 123.5.1, and our server is running on version 23.0, do you realy think that it will be an easy thing to combine clients with that versions?

so ahlwong is right, only phoenix and dommed are possible without many editing

I understand, Phoenix is the grandma of Dooms and they use 123.5.1 client :-? But maybe should be posible to make a " client selector " and at start, you enter the sv IP and you choose sv source.
