If you want to reduce your masturbation tendencies, you really shouldn't just go cold turkey and stop out of the blue. As with most bodily processes, your sexual glands and testes' sperm production follow a regular cycle. If you masturbate let's say, 3 times per week, over time your body will have formed a schedule to produce sperm, and sexual chemicals based on that regular pattern. Flat stopping won't reset your schedule, and your body will still be anticipating your regular 3-time weekly release. Due to this, you will indeed be getting a lot more wet dreams than normal from your body being deprived of a normal process, and compensating accordingly.
My suggestion: Jerk one out to reduce your deprivation side-effects and prostate pain. If you still want to minimize your tendency, try for a more gradual approach, slowly reducing the number of times you jerk it in a given period.
