If I was to open a server hosting service, would anyone be interested?
1. mc is dead.
2. you need really high bandwith and server grade specs to run a server for multiple people
3. you need to have multiple ip adresses for every server and not let 1 server take your entire bandwith
4. why the fuck would you want to open a server hosting buissnes at this unfortunate time
Yes If for free.
There are enough server hosting services out there already, it's not worth it.

1. Nope.
2. Google Fiber.
3. I don't think you know how TCP/IP works.
4. It's extremely profitable and low maintenance.

Yes, because I would totally rent out hundreds of gigabytes of data for free. Get real.

And they all make a large chunk of change. 1 fully built standard server rack nets 10k a month at full capacity.

Specs:
CPU:
3.4 GHz
8MB data cache
Ram:
DDR3 or DDR4 ram depending on how much we invest in our computers but there will be a guaranteed 16 GB per computer.
Storage:
yet again depending on how much we invest into the computers will determine if we use the new Samsung SSDs or standard hardrives.(speeds may vary)
Internet:
Google Fiber
If you don't already know the specs of Google Fiber you are either a retard or a retard who is new to the internet, seriously people have you been living under a rock.
Interesting, good luck with business, Raple. Ill look forward to it.

Those work a shit ton on getting their services noticed, spamming their websites on minecraft forums 24/7.
If it's cheaper than others and you advertise it a lot you may do good. But there is so many hosting sites so it would give you a lot work to do. Obviously it's your choice but gonna be tough.

lemme correct my stuff
1. BUKKIT is dead, so mc servers are imo
2. sweet, still if you want to scale it you need to start doing it outside of your home if its not a huge place where you can have server rackets standing around.
3. yea,but ive seen servers die because they abused the hosts bandwidth for other shit
4. maybe, once you have all your stuff. a server cpu alot of ram and SSD's so the servers run fast. also power isnt free

1. Na, MC can run old revisions and Bukkit is still out there. Plugins are also still obtainable.
2. I'm not doing from my bedroom, wtf? If I'm buying full racks they're going in an office.
3. I'm going to have traffic monitored, and there will be a ToS of course.
4. My current computer and setup alone could potentially net 4-5k a year if I rent it out, and my computer only costed me $950.00 total for the whole set up. That's with a GPU and extra cooling, as well as a CPU that is way more than needed for standard hosting. One server computer with 16GB of RAM for me is only going to cost 600-700ish dollars, and I could potentially make 200ish a month with each, meaning I start earning pure profit after about 4 months. With my start up capital, it's possible to buy up to 20 computers with a new breaker for the electricity requirements, and everything I'll need to start up a small data center. 20x200 + bonus sales will total approx. 5k per month on start up. For a start up business while still in school, that's pretty damn good money.
