PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — A police officer was shot and killed early Sunday in Tarpon Springs, Fla.
The Tarpon Springs Police Department identified the officer killed as 45-year-old Charles "Charlie K" Kondek.
The shooting occurred around 3 a.m. at an apartment complex on Grand Boulevard in Tarpon Springs, about 25 miles northwest of Tampa. Police were originally called for a noise ordinance complaint with a suspect banging on residential doors.
