Just be prepared to be bored out of your mind. Brisbane is almost as boring as Canberra.

I am from Brisbane, moved to Noosa in the Sunnycoast now (2 hour drive). I can honestly tell you Noosa is better :P, although brissy does have alot of cheap / good weed.
i live on the sunny coast, but my relatives live down in brissy, not many things to do, lol. you'll do the rounds of the random activities and clubs then you will be over it pretty much like anywhere else in the world, in way of accommodation you may find cheap places a bit more out of the city but inner city gets a bit ridiculous with some prices of rooms and houses to rent... be advised parking is shit so prepare to walk allot, also every man and his dog pisses in the southbank public swimming pools n stuff, so don't go in the water lol
