For instance look at sorcerer's ability, you just point it in the right direction and it hits the enemy always. Maybe that could somehow could relate to getting the enemy's position? It would probably be easier to auto aim wizard's ability for an enemy standing still, such as sprite world's boss because he stands still during one of the phases. Then it comes to what if it hits the wrong enemy? Well maybe implement it so that it automatically targets bosses during dungeons or quests, or it could hits what ever your mouse pointer is closest to. Auto ability aim doesn't just have to be for wizard, think about ninja's star. These are some ideas I had about it, so just post what you know/think about this.
You are missing a thing tho
Spellbombs' start point is located in the center of the closest tile to the cursor. How many enemies stays still
exactly in the middle of a tile? Sure it would dramatically help if you are not good at spellbombing, but it can rarely be extremely precise.
And I suspect (somebody that actually understands how this crap works please comment) that wizard's and sorcerer/ninja/archer/etc's specials works in different ways: while spells are casted at a set of
coordinates, blasts/stars/archer's oversized arrow instead requires an
angle to be used, and with some relatively simple concepts on cinematic and trigonometry I assume they can be
far more accurate than spellbombs.
Anyway while this stuff is being discussed (
again), there should be an RR script somewhere here, not sure if it still works.
