my old high school has 6 people with swine flu, and still aren't closed down.
they just have to stay out for a mandatory 8 days.

My school was closed today cause a kid had the swine flu. That's why I didn't go to school.

unless you country have set a state of emergency no, swine flu doesnt kill at a rate any higher than seasonal flu.

schools getting closed is decided by governors or who ever runs education in your area, sometimes even the schools head teacher.

however if the local health authority or the national health system in the uk advise schools to close, they normally agree

my schools and the counties around me go on percent of how many kids are sick
we need like 25% to close we are at 10 but i think we are going down

@ origional post - it depends on county laws and the school administration, its not federal law to shut it down, you would have to check for your area
