Optimising your internet
Has anyone tried it before?
I heard urban legends about men who optimised their internet by modding their modem, giving them batshit crazy network speeds.

The modems eventually die but if I can boost my internet speed by that much(he was downloading 3 huge items at 50mn/s)then you bet I'm willing to give my modem

Anyone any clues?


Also, anyone here got any tips? I've got wireless internet on my PC, and it tends to fuck around alot. I changed the channel but meh

I got a spare modem, I'd try this out if I know how.

I know modding modems can unlocked caps on them. I've done it twice on bad modems for fun (and testing streaming around my house for others things like Pandora radio, but that's a different firmware mod.) One of them did die, but the increase of speed was noticeable on paper, but not really in use.

I know this isnt' exactly what you are asking about, but if you want to boost your network signal/overclock your router get DDwrt
