How could I start learning lua.

Hey could somone tell me the best way to start learning lua? Is there any good tutorials out there or should i just buy the third edition book? And is lua even good for hacking games? Cause one guy I met used only lua for a Garry's Mod DarkRP money hack.

Do you mean like injecting lua into a game? or creating lua scripts

Official Reference Manual <- Might be the best place to start. It covers how variables, functions, etc are defined. That way when you get to a tutorial, you'll know a bit.

Programming In LUA <- An actual book on the language. The LUA team is all over this book; you probably won't find a better introduction.
