Yes. It's a really good anime, though the first season is so-so. It becomes better on once the characters are introduced and the characters start running jokes.

Has lots of refences to other animes though.

I think gintama has an appeal to everyone who watches it becease there is comedy,action, and heartwarming episodes. Sometimes the plot gets really serious also... so definitely worth your time if you watch it.

Gintama is good when you want something funny. I usually watch 1-2 episodes a month because I am into action/fantasy/super natural/martial arts type of manga/anime and the main character has to be the strongest and NO FEMALE as main character otherwise i won't watch
