One "very very reliable" source gets banned for using it, but the other however many people (im guessing more than 100) that have been using it do not get banned. Yet the overall consensus is that it is detected. It's possible! Remember that at the time we didn't have much information. If it was detected and we didn't do anything, I'd have felt bad about the bans.
