just got dayz help

i purchased dayz again on a new account after getting banned on another steam account. i used to have cracked dayz but i deleted it a long time ago and now when i go into my normal dayz i haven't played at all and the character is a women with a mosin why is this?

someone possibly logged into your steam account? check your email notifications, or is it just the picture at the main menu

Try joining any server. Check if you spawn as fresh character. If you do than most likely woman with a mosin will be gone.

It is probably a leftover from your previous account. If there are several steam accounts on one computer that have some games in common no new copies are created, accounts share same game files (but not bans of course). That character with a mosin is most likely a character from your last session on banned account that got saved on your hdd. After you create a new one it'll be rewritten.

Characters do not move-over to another steam acc even if you have them on the same PC.

You misunderstood me. Characters are stored in remote database and of course are tied to your account. When you disconnect from server your can see your gear, weapons, etc. But what you see in the main menu is actually not your real character. It's just a clone, a dummy with contents copied from remote database from the last time you disconnected. It serves only one purpose of showing your gear. That copy is stored in your game files and it showed up for original poster. When he plays any session that dummy will be rewritten with a new one when he disconnects from server.

thanks for all the suggestions guys and sorry for the late reply/update. when I logged in my character just spawned fresh but that women with a mosin is still mysterious
