Rockstar support being retarded, not actually unlocking option to change character, wondering if there was a hack for this? cheers

There is no hack for that but you could delete one of your character and start a new one. After just use menus to change the level,money, unlocks, etc. to what ever it was on your desired character

Not very true actually. The Endeavour menu's reset appearance option allows everything to be reset as seen when you login with a new character a second time and are prompted a one time change.
