You're right the whole build at time of me building it was $3000 and an extra $500 for monitors keyboard mouse and headset. But if i add the 3 gtx 980s sli which means ill have an extra gtx 780ti laying around. Then i think it can be considered expensive.

But maybe thats expensive for him. Not many people can blow $3500 on a setup and then later another $2000 on a 3way sli.

Why are you doing 980s? There are much better cards for the money.

Well my college is paid for through scholarships, but I am saving up for University and trying to save for moving out my parents house, also have to pay insurance (HIGH!) and gas. Money I get right know is not enough to make a custom build (IMO)

Ah okay im on the same boat sorta but i guess i make alot from my job im going to university nut my financial aid doesmt cover everything and i pay for gas and insurance and my payments on the car but i dont plan on moving out until 2 years from now

Why do you like Nvidia? They're the absolute laughing stock of the graphics card market. The new AMD 3xx series blows those P.O.S out of the water.

Or you can go for a R9 295X2 which you can find for less than $600, and has x1.5 the amount of power of a single 980.
